Measuring For A Kilt

We love “Men in Kilts” but not all Kilts fit as well as they should. A properly fitted Kilt looks great on and is comfortable to wear. The Kilts of old, the Breacan Feile or Great Kilt was easy to fit. It was one long piece of fabric, pleated by hand, belted at the waist and flung over one shoulder. What’s not to fit! Today’s Kilts require a lot more tailoring and the finished product only allows 2 ½” of adjustment. We have been measuring Kilts for gentlemen in our shop for over 15 years and have had great success if the proper measurements are taken. For our customers to have equal success is not difficult if they take the time to measure and use our ordering diagram. Taking short cuts leads to disaster! Many of our rental customers have given us measurements over the phone, usually trying to use pants size instead of taking the time to measure. When they pick up their rental they find the kilt doesn’t fit!
