MacIntyre Clan
Crest and Tartan
In Gaelic the name means “son of the Carpenter”. The MacIntyres possessed the lands of Glenoe from the south of Loch Etive and the foot of Ben Cruachan in Argylshire for almost 600 years. The land held in tenure an annual payment of a snowball in summer from Ben Cruachan and a fatted white calf to the Campbells. MacIntyres were hereditary pipers to the Menzies of Rannoch.
