Crawford Clan

Crest and Tartan

The surname derives from the Barony of Crawford in Lanarkshire where the family settled in the 12th century. Sir William Wallace’s mother was a Crawford and the clan lent loyal support to the Scottish cause. Wallace’s cousin Sir Reginald Crawford was executed at Carlisle in 1307.
